Papaya guarantees local compliance in your payroll operations every time. Your employees and contractors are correctly classified, payroll is processed according to current local regulations, and we use AI engines to make sure all information is correct and compliant before payroll is processed.

Deel, on the other hand, has faced hardships with its payroll compliance which challenges its expertise in the field.

Regarding global payroll payments, Papaya is a licensed financial service company that is legally allowed to hold and transfer funds across the globe. Papaya guarantees accurate and timely payments and is fully liable.

Deel, in its turn, is not a licensed and regulated organization legally allowed to hold or transfer funds across the globe. It is entirely dependent on its third-party payroll service providers, and it cannot take liability on its own.

 

Which EOR model is best for my business?

The EOR offer for your global workforce can follow one of two models: trusted independent ICPs (in-country local partners) or company owned EOR entities.

Papaya adopts the first model, having a world-class network of ICPs that provide compliant onboarding and management of employees through EOR services. This means that Papaya is independent to audit its ICPs, adding one more layer of security to EOR operations. In addition, in case where you already work with ICPs you trust, you don’t need to replace them – you can keep working with your trusted ICP and manage your global payroll with Papaya.

The second model, which is adopted by Deel, creates a conflict of interest that works against your interests as a customer. Because the EOR is directly owned by Deel, it cannot independently audit the EOR and prevent mistakes in the process. Likewise, if there is a dispute between you and one EOR, there is no neutral third party to arbitrate it.

Can I get expert support and guidance on global HR-related issues such as salary benchmarks or benefits management?

Papaya has a strong support system, including a dedicated customer support manager, a legal team to an in-house Center of Excellence with experts from compensation and benefits, equity, and immigration, and more. All resources are part of our core offering to our clients.

Deel does not offer permanent customer success managers to help guide you through the maze of global employment. You might be able to get support online but not with a dedicated manager who knows your company and its needs, limiting how effectively they can guide your expansion journey.

How is the pricing structure? Is it all-inclusive?

Papaya’s pricing is fixed. No additional costs. Nothing is hidden. Everything is clear and transparent from the onset.

Deel’s pricing structure is composed of a quoted price that covers costs per employee per month for using Deel’s services. Additional services, such as Visas, treasury, background checks, equipment rental, workspaces, optional health insurance, etc. are charged separately. Some fees are only disclosed through the use of specific services (i.e. payment processing fees) and are not easily identifiable beforehand.
