Payroll Data Monitoring Dashboard

Table of contents

Introducing Payroll Data Monitoring, our new BI dashboard to help track gaps in worker counts, items, and payments month-over-month. When the Papaya platform spots a gap in those areas, it signals an alert – low, medium, or high.

The new additions to our dashboard provide further advancements in data reliability, transparency, and overall user-friendliness.

The Workers Count Gap

  1. Payroll vs. Salary Updates – shows the number of workers with cost plans/salary updates but does not appear in the payroll summary for the current period (or vice versa). Any gap is classified as a high alert level.
  2. Total Contracts, Month-Over-Month – shows the number of workers that joined/left in the current month vs. the previous month, according to the Workers Contract Data.
  3. Total Payroll – Workers, Month-Over-Month – shows the number of workers that appear in the payroll summary in the current month but not in the previous month (or vice versa), according to the Payroll Summary Data.
  4. Total Salary Updates – Workers, Month-Over-Month – shows the number of workers that appear in the salary updates in the current month but not in the previous month (or vice versa), according to the Salary Updates Data.

Items Count Gap

  1. Total Payroll Cost Items, Month-Over-Month – shows the number of cost items that appear in the payroll summary in the current month but not in the previous month (or vice versa), according to the Payroll Summary Data.
  2. Total Salary Updates – Cost Items, Month-Over-Month – shows the number of Cost Items that appear in the salary updates in the current month but didn’t in the previous month (or vice versa), according to the Salary Updates Data
  3. Payroll Vs. Salary Updates – Cost Items Gap – shows the number of cost items that appear in the cost plans/salary updates but did not appear in the payroll summary for the current period (or vice versa).

For example:

  • If a worker appears in the salary update but not in the payroll summary (or vice versa) a high alert level is indicated.
  • If a car allowance, commission, or bonus is paid in the current month and wasn’t in the previous month, it will appear as a gap with a level medium alert.
  • If a salary update for a worker receives a bonus and that item was missing in the payroll summary, it will be highlighted as a gap and classified as a high alert level.

Payments Gap (USD)

  1. Payroll Vs. Salary Updates Cost Gap – compares the total value of workers cost items that appear in the cost plans/salary updates to the total value in the payroll summary for the current period. In case of a gap, it will be classified as a high alert level.
  2. Total Payroll Cost Gap, Month Over Month – compares the total value of workers cost items in the payroll summary in the current month vs. the previous month. A gap here will be classified as a medium alert level as this might reflect salary increases, joiners or 1-timers.
  3. Total Salary Updates Cost Gap, Month Over Month – compares the total value of workers’ cost items in the salary updates in the current month vs. the previous month. A gap here will be classified as a medium alert level as this might reflect salary increases, joiners or 1-timers.

For example:

  • If a salary bonus was entered as $1,000 but showed up as $500, it would be indicated as a medium level alert.

New Dashboard in Action

The charts below show the total employment costs gap, month-over-month, sorted by the largest gaps.

For example:

  • If a worker receives a bonus in the current month (but not in the previous month), the data will appear on the chart on the left (showing the largest gaps). The chart on the right side breaks down the worker costs, revealing the reason for the gap.
